MIDLAND, Texas — West Texas leaders have reacted to Joe Biden dropping out of the presidential race Sunday.
State Representative Brooks Landgraf reacted on Instagram:
"There’s plenty to criticize about President Biden’s term in office, and there’s plenty to say about the strategy and pressure of his fellow Democrats in getting him to drop out of the race. But today, I will just say that Biden’s decision to not accept his party’s nomination for re-election is the right thing to do for the country. And for that, I’m grateful."
Congressman August Pfluger took to Instagram stories for his reaction:
"For the last several years Democrats have perpetrated a fraud against the American people. We were called liars and exaggerators and accused of producing 'cheap fakes' when we questioned the mental fitness of the Commander-in-Chief. We have been vindicated.
Complicit in this fraud are Congressional Democrats and party leaders who are now discarding the 14 million votes in this year's Democratic primaries. If President Biden is not fit to run for President, he cannot be President. He should resign immediately, if he does not, every Democrat must call for his resignation.
Vice President Harris owns all of the Biden-Harris policy failures and she now must be asked 'What did she know and when did she know it?'"

Senator Cesar Blanco sent a press release with his reaction to the news:
“President Biden’s record of achievements has cemented his legacy as one of the most impactful presidents in American history. I extend my deepest gratitude to President Biden for his dedicated service to our country.
As a Superdelegate, I am committed to working with our party to select an emerging nominee who will lead our nation and effectively guide our country forward.”
