ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Samuel Little has plead guilty to the 1994 murder of Denise Brothers.
He will be transported back to California, where he is serving time for the murders of three other women.
The Ector County District Attorney agreed to waive the death penalty for Little if he plead guilty to the murder, gave a full confession and did not contest extradition to Texas. His life sentence will run concurrent with the California sentences.
“We appreciate the hard work done by the Texas Rangers, the Odessa Police Department, the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI and the Department of Justice for helping us obtain justice for Denise Christie Brothers and her family after all these years. Due to the efforts of law enforcement agencies from around the country, dozens of victims’ families now have answers. Although this is a conviction in Ector County, Texas, I hope it will serve as justice for all those atrocious murders committed across this nation in this unprecedented era of terror and mayhem caused by Samuel Little.”
Little could potentially be behind 90 different murders. If found guilty of them all, he could be the most prolific serial killer in U.S. history.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all Law Enforcement agencies involved in bringing closure to the death of Denise. Not knowing what happened to our mother for over 24 years has certainly created a void in our lives. It is a shame that our grandparents, her parents, did not live to get the same closure and to see justice served. I hope the othr victims' families finally get the answers they deserve. We appreciate the efforts of everyone working on this case and for respecting our privacy.
