He survived a bullet to the head. Now, a Snyder Police officer shot in the line of duty is on the road to recovery.
Officer Darrell Campbell's condition has been upgraded from critical to serious.
Officer Campbell and Officer Lee Ortiz were responding to a shots fired call.
They were talking to Dwayne Birmingham outside a home, when he pulled out a gun and opened fire on them.
Campbell was critically wounded with a gunshot to the head and Birmingham was fatally shot by officer ortiz.
