A top leader of the Juarez drug cartel was arrested in Mexico City on Friday night and he has strong ties to West Texas.
According to the El Paso Times, 32-year-old Benjamin Valeriano, Junior, was born in Pecos and is on the most wanted list of the Drug Enforcement Agency in El Paso.
Valeriano is identified as one of the main operators of the Juarez Cartel and worked for the second in command.
He was found in a swanky neighborhood in Mexico City where it is believed he moved after the arrest of several leaders of the cartel.
