MIDLAND, Texas — Midland Christian Basketball has a chance to seek revenge on a familiar opponent Friday afternoon. The Mustangs have made it back to the state semifinals for the second straight season.
After making it to the Final Four of TAPPS 5A a year ago, the Mustangs were beaten by Austin Saint Michael's, seeing a successful season ending two wins short of a state championship.
One year later, and this team finds itself back in Waco, TX., against a familiar opponent.
St. Michael's sits at #1 in TAPPS 5A, one spot above Midland Christian. The top two teams for most of the season will battle with a spot in Saturday's title fight on the line.
The Mustangs have dominated on the basketball court this season, leading them to the final stage of the TAPPS playoffs in Waco. But this team has one word on their mind as they head east for Friday's game: Redemption.
All the talking is over, time to pony up and grab those ten letters to stay another night in Waco.
The Mustangs will put their season on the line at 2 p.m. on Friday, representing the Tall City in Central Texas.
