Midland College volleyball coach resigns; to coach at Texas A&M International

MIDLAND, Texas — Tammie Jimenez, who served as Midland College's head volleyball coach since 2010, announced her resignation.

In 2010, Jimenez became MC's third-ever head volleyball coach following four years as the Lady Chaps' assistant coach.

Jimenez is heading to Laredo, Texas, to be the head coach of Texas A&M International University's volleyball team.

The college says that they are actively looking for replacements for Jimenez.

Below is Midland College's press release on Jimenez's resignation:

"Midland College volleyball coach, Tammie Jimenez, has tendered her resignation to become the head coach at Texas A&M International University (NCAA II) in Laredo, TX.

Coach Jimenez became Midland College’s third-ever head volleyball coach in 2010 following a four-year period as the program’s assistant coach.

n her tenure as head volleyball coach Jimenez recorded an overall record of 220-151 (.593) over her 14 seasons at the helm.

'Coach Jimenez has continued the historic excellence of the Midland College Lady Chaps volleyball program. In her time as assistant and head coach (18 years total) she has achieved much success and made considerable contributions to the volleyball program, to the MC Athletic Department and to Midland College.

We wish her the very best of luck at TAMIU and we will be following with great interest as she leads the Dustdevils into the 2024 season and beyond. We thank her for her nearly two decades of commitment to, and stewardship of, the MC Volleyball program.'" - Forrest Allen, Director of Athletics
