ODESSA, Texas — If you haven't heard, the Texas Rangers just won the World Series.
As it's their first World Series win in franchise history, fans are looking for any way to celebrate and show off their passion.
One of the ways they're showing off their pride? At the stores.
Mugs, hats, bats, license plate covers, shirts - all of it and more has been adorned with World Series logos, and Rangers fans are eagerly snapping them up to show their pride.
While retail stores have a wide variety of merch to offer, another venue can have your shirts made, something Amber Cutting, owner of Lilly's Boutique in Odessa, has been doing for a while.
"We make our own shirts. So we pretty much have designs anywhere from any schools around here, any businesses around here, Texas Rangers of course today and this whole last two weeks," Cutting said. "They come in they pick out their own blank shirt, they pick out their design they want and then they make their own shirt here in the store."
But just how passionate are Rangers fans when it comes to buying team gear?
Just listen to the numbers Cutting had just after Wednesday's win.
“Probably between two and three hundred [shirts] this morning," Cutting said. "So it’ll continue, it’ll get crazy this afternoon.”
While Rangers gear has been in demand ever since they secured an American League Wild Card spot, interest has skyrocketed even more since they won the World Series trophy.
“It pretty much started before the game last night and then we posted, kind of right after the game, some shirts and it blew up," Cutting said. "So it has been non-stop since.”
But, what makes fans so invested in sports? What makes them break open their wallets for new gear?
It all has to do with loyalty and passion.
“Because they want to be seen. Everybody in Texas. Texas is just its own breed," Cutting said. "Everything in Texas that happens, Cowboys, Rangers, everything, they want merchandise to represent their team."
