Midland native and Midland High product Bryce Hoppel made his Paris Olympics debut on Wednesday morning.
Hoppel will represent Team USA in the Men's 800-meter semifinals on Friday with his second place finish and time of 1:45.24 in Heat Six.
The Tall City kid set a personal best time of 1:42:77 back in the U.S. Olympic Trials in June.
