ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The City of Odessa has a new identity.
At Tuesday night's city council meeting, council members approved a new logo to represent Odessa.
The logo shows the Texas flag with the tag line 'The right place in Texas.'
City administrators say the logo will become more predominant throughout the year and is currently in use by the Chamber of Commerce and The Odessa Development Corporation.
Odessa Mayor, David Turner, said, "The decision to change the City's graphical identity came with much discussion and consideration, but ultimately the decision was made to allow consistent marketing and representation of Odessa."
Staff will begin working to replace existing logos on vehicles, letterhead, business cards, uniforms and buildings.
