ALPINE, TX (KWES) - We have an update on the search and investigation of Zuzu Verk.
The Alpine Police Department said that 83rd Judicial District Attorney Rod Ponton has recused himself from the investigation into the disappearance of Zuzu Verk.
We're told Adrienne McFarland and Geoff Barr of the Texas Attorney General's office will now head up the investigation.
On Wednesday, Verk's boyfriend, Robert Fabian, was named a suspect in her disappearance.
Multiple agencies have been searching for Verk and have covered over 500 square miles.
Verk was last heard from during the early morning hours on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
A $100,000 reward is being offered for information on her whereabouts.
