ECTOR COUNTY - One person is dead following an accident in Ector County on Friday morning.
The accident happened on Highway 385 in South Ector County.
DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, a semi truck was traveling southbound on Highway 385 when a Ford Focus was attempting to pull out onto the Highway.
The driver of the semi honked his horn and attempted to swerve in an effort to not hit the Ford Focus.
However, the 18-wheeler struck the Ford Focus on the driver's side.
The driver of the Ford Focus, 42-year-old Rebecca Scalo of Odessa, was pronounced dead at the scene.
