The Dunes Sagebrush lizard is popping up in more locations across West Texas.
A study done by Texas A&M shows the lizard was found in 28 locations not previously known about before.
If the lizard is put on the national endangered species list, that could restrict drilling all around the basin.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife is conducting studies to determine if the lizard should be put on the list.
