BIG SPRING – Two people are behind bars following a police chase in Big Spring.

Big Spring Police tell NewsWest 9, Big Spring Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by 22-year-old Jessica Burden and 31-year-old Marshall Coker.

During the traffic stop, police found that Coker and Burden were in possession of marijuana and arrested. Police also found numerous forms of identification including checkbooks, driver's licenses, social security cards, tax forms and a .22 caliber 9 shot revolver.

The following day, Narcotics Investigators followed up on the property located in the vehicle which led them to contact the Colorado City Police Department. Officials learned that the majority of the items that were seized were stolen in recent storage building burglaries.

It was learned that both Burden and Coker had already bonded out of jail from the previous night.

Big Spring Police then responded to the last known location of Burden and saw her leaving in a 1999 gray Mercury Cougar two door vehicle.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but Burden refused to stop and a chase began.

The chase traveled throughout town and Burden eventually wrecked her vehicle in the 700 block of West 7th Street just before 4:30 p.m. after hitting a water meter housing.

That's when Burden and 40-year-old Billy Kirk, who was a passenger in the vehicle, fled on foot.

Both Burden and Kirk were caught.

Burden has been charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance less than 1 gram and evading.
