77-year-old severely injured after major crash at Wadley and Mark Lane

The Midland Police Department said the driver of a Mazda "failed to yield the right of way" and hit a Freightliner.

MIDLAND, Texas — The Midland Police Department (MPD) has released the full details Tuesday afternoon on a major crash at Wadley Ave. and Mark Lane Tuesday morning.

According to MPD's report, at approximately 11:48 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of Wadley Ave. and Mark Lane because of a major crash.

When officers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation, it revealed that a 2000 Mazda B-series pickup, driven by 77-year-old James Holman Jr., stopped in the 3300 block of Mark Lane.

Holman then "failed to yield the right of way" to a 2024 Freightliner M2 which was going west on Wadley Ave.

That is when the two vehicles collided.

MPD said Holman was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Freightliner had no injuries and was released on scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
