MIDLAND, Texas — A construction project at the intersection of Business 20 and N. Fairgrounds Rd. starts on Friday, June 14 and will run until the Spring of 2025, lasting 10 months, the Texas Department of Transportation announced Friday.
According to a flyer from TxDOT, the scope of the work will be improvements for the at grade railroad crossings and drainage on Business 20 at SH 137, N. Fairgrounds Rd and S. Garfield St.
"This project encompasses a comprehensive scope of work, including at grade UPRR crossing improvements, installation of concrete paving, medians, curbs and sidewalks, replacement of traffic signals and replacement of drainage structures," the TxDOT flyer stated.
Phase 1 of road closures for the project will be on the westbound lanes of Business 20, the north half of Fairgrounds Rd and the Business 20 Frontage Rd. Phase 2 of road closures for the project will be on the eastbound lanes of Business 20 and the south half of Fairgrounds Rd.
