Crash kills two people in Odessa during late evening hours

The crash happened after a Toyota Tacoma, occupied by the victims, crossed into oncoming traffic.

ODESSA, Texas — On Saturday, at 10:21 p.m., Odessa police responded to a call about a crash on Loop 338 and Murphy. 

Once police arrived on the scene, they found that two people had died following a major crash. 

The Toyota Tacoma, which was occupied by a male and female in their 40's, was traveling southbound on West Loop 338. 

An investigation revealed that the Tacoma left the roadway and crossed into oncoming traffic before hitting a Dodge Ram 2500.

Both occupants of the Tacoma were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle.

Both male and female was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say a truck tractor trailer was involved in the crash. If you have any information you are asked to call Hit & Run Investigator M. Stewart at 432-335-5759.

There have been no other injuries reported and at this time next of kin has yet to been notified.
