MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — TxDOT is warning drivers about a major detour in Midland County.
Eastbound I-20 near County Road 1250 will be down to one lane on June 23.
Starting June 24, drivers will be detoured onto the service road as both lanes will be closed.
Westbound lanes will start to be detoured the week of July 11.
This detour is planned to last for around 14 months.
TxDOT is working to build a new bridge at CR 1250.
Drivers should be aware of a traffic barrier between the main lanes and the service road of I-20 and should also watch for detour signage through the construction zone.
Speed limits will be reduced as work is performed and an increase in law enforcement is possible.
