ODESSA, Texas — The Permian Basin is one step closer to connecting with a major interstate.
The United States Senate has approved an amendment to expand the Interstate 14 Corridor to Midland-Odessa.
According to the Midland-Odessa Transportation Alliance, if approved the new expansion would mean the interstate would now stretch across five states.
The amendment was proposed by Senators Ted Cruz and Ralph Warnock.
When completed, I-14 will stretch from Odessa, Texas to Augusta, Georgia.
MOTRAN says this expansion is part of the infrastructure package currently being considered by the U.S. Senate.
