MIDLAND, Texas — Midland County announced the reconstruction of County Road 1130 starting Sept. 30.

According to a Midland County press release, the project will "enhance the roadway's safety and functionality for all users."

It is reported that the exact reconstruction is taking place on the already existing asphalt road, by widening it to include a continuous center turn lane.

"This improvement aims to facilitate better traffic flow and reduce accidents in the area," Midland County said.

The work limit will start south of East County Road 86 and will end north of the Farm-to-Market 307 intersection.

Jones Brothers Dirt and Paving are in charge of construction for the project which is expected to be completed by mid-January of 2025.

The estimated cost of the reconstruction is $4 million.

" I am proud to announce this important road project in our precinct. This reconstruction illustrates the growth of Midland County," said Jeff Somers, county commissioner for Precinct 2. "We understand that construction can be inconvenient, and we appreciate everyone's patience as we work to create a better infrastructure for our community. Together, we are investing in a brighter future for our roads and the people who rely on them."
