MIDLAND, Texas — Midland Police are investigating after a single-vehicle crash turned deadly.
Officers were called out to the 4300 block of W. Loop 250 in response to a crash involving a gray Range Rover around 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 13.
Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Pedro Lugo, 40, of Midland. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, Lugo had been driving on Loop 250 when he left the roadway for an unknown reason and entered the center median.
This caused Lugo to lose control of the vehicle, making the vehicle roll several times.
Police say Lugo was not wearing his seat belt, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle.
Investigators also believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
The crash is still under investigation and next of kin have been notified.
