Odessa woman killed in wrong-way collision on Loop 338

A Crane woman began traveling on the wrong side of the road, causing the Christmas Day crash.

ODESSA, Texas — An Odessa woman is dead following a crash on Christmas Day.

According to DPS, Alondra Perez, 26, of Crane was traveling northbound on State Loop 338 around 7 p.m. in Ector County.

DPS reports for unknown reasons she veered into the southbound lanes and began traveling on the wrong side of the road.

A Volkswagen Jetta traveling southbound attempted to evade Perez but was struck by her car.

Both the driver and the passenger of the Jetta were taken to Medical Center Hospital.

The passenger, Aracelli Villa, 47, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver was treated and released.

Perez was not injured in the crash.

DPS is still investigating and no further information is available at this time.
