Pedestrian killed after being struck by 2 vehicles in Odessa

According to witnesses the man disregarded a pedestrian stop-and-go signal when he entered the roadway.

ODESSA, Texas — An Odessa man is dead after being struck by two vehicles Sunday evening.

According to Odessa Police, a group of men had been attempting to walk across 42nd Street near Golder just before 11:30 p.m.

One of the men, identified as Shannon Miles, 53, was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound in the outside lane. He was then struck by a second vehicle.

Witnesses and drivers told police the traffic signal was green for westbound traffic at the time of the crash. Miles has entered the roadway disregarding a pedestrian stop-and-go signal.

Miles was pronounced dead at the scene and next of kin has been notified. No charges are pending at the moment and the investigation is still underway.
