ECTOR COUNTY, Texas — West Texas drivers received good news Tuesday.
The Texas Transportation Commission has given the green light for the Permian Basin Metropolitan Planning Organization's plan to expand I-20.
The plan will involve expanding a section of the highway from four lanes to six lanes.
This section will run from JBS Parkway in Odessa to east of Highway 349/Rankin Highway in Midland.
The project is estimated to cost around $340 million dollars.
However the project won't be happening right now. It is expected to be undertaken sometime between 2025 to 2030.
