Ribbon cutting held for West County 130 Project completion

Midland County commissioners said the project will enhance accessibility and connectivity into the community.

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — There is now a new road opened up in Midland County!

It's a new connection between Antelope Trail and South County Road 1210. This connection results in a continuous road linking Antelope Trail to South County Road 1140.

Midland County commissioners told NewsWest 9 that the West County Road 130 Project will enhance accessibility and connectivity into the community.

A big reason why this road connection was added is because of new development that has grown in the area.

"There's been a lot of growth out in this area when it comes to small businesses so we make sure we support oil and gas operators or anything with oil and gas," said Luis Sanchez, Midland County commissioner of Precinct 3. "So this helps communicate roads, these are major roads, we wanna make sure not only is it safety for folks who travel here but opportunities for more growth."

The $2.8 million project started construction in late February of this year and included the development of two miles of new roads.
