Traffic alerts for the week of Dec. 16

Construction is expected to cause delays in Martin County, Ector County and Reeves County

EDITOR'S NOTE:: The video above is from a previous report on Jan. 2, 2019.

A number of construction projects will cause delays across the Permian  Basin this week.

The Texas Department of Transportation asks all drivers to obey warning signs and slow down in work zones.

Road closures and repairs have been listed for the following counties:

PECOS COUNTY: Southbound lane of Farm-to-Market 1053 will be closed for repair work Thursday, Dec. 19. The work area is between mile markers 376-378, just a few miles north of FM 1450.

ANDREWS COUNTY: DPS will close the FM 181 intersection with State Highway 115 starting at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 19, to investigate a fatal crash from November. Flaggers will let traffic through as they can, but expect major delays if you can’t find an alternate route. FM 181 northbound will be detoured at SW 7000 to SW 4001 and back north to SH 115.

MIDLAND COUNTY: Crew will be working north service road of I-20 Thursday December 19, west of Midland. Patching will move around, as will lane closures.

MARTIN COUNTY: Patching crew will be working Dec. 18 and 19 on SH 176 in Martin County. Short-term lane closures will be needed.

ECTOR COUNTY: Lane closures needed on BI-20 at JBS Parkway for bridge inspection on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Eastbound lanes will be done first. Lane closures will shift several times during the day.

REEVES COUNTY: The center eastbound lane is closed on I-10 just east of where I-20 splits off. This is a bridge that goes over a draw. Two lanes are still open. Repairs coming soon.
