I-20 and I-10 travel forecast for Thanksgiving driving

Expect moderate to heavy traffic these next few days as many people are going to be on the road.

MIDLAND, Texas — If you're traveling to see family and give thanks, take a moment to plan your trip!

Here's a local forecast of the roads these next few days. Make sure your children are buckled up safely and seats are in good working order.

I-20

If you're driving on I-20, expect moderate traffic on Wednesday and Thursday if you're going to the Dallas, Longview and Canton areas. 

Friday and Saturday should be light, however there is possible congestion from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Midland-Odessa area and Fort Worth on Friday and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday. 

Sunday is the most expected heavy traffic. From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. expect congestion in Midland-Odessa and the Dallas areas among other cities.

I-10

If you're driving on I-10, expect heavy traffic from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. if you're going to El Paso, San Antonio, Houston or the Louisiana border on Wednesday. 

Thursday and Friday should be light traffic. 

On Saturday, expect moderate traffic from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Dallas and Houston areas.

Expect heavy traffic again on Sunday, as from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., El Paso, Sierra Blanca, Fort Stockton, San Antonio, Katy and the Louisiana border expect congestion.
