MIDLAND, Texas — It is the busiest time of the year, holiday travel.
It is expected to be a record-breaking year for Thanksgiving when it comes to travel.
If anyone is flying out of the Midland International Air & Space Port, expect Tuesday and Wednesday to be the busiest days of the week.
If anyone is flying out to Dallas or Houston, expect your flight to be fuller than normal.
Plan to drive to the airport and expect the parking lots to possibly be full too.
"Yeah, parking is another component that people need to keep in mind, and that goes back to making sure you arrive early and give yourself enough time. We see the parking lots get full," said Nick Krakovec, the deputy director of the Midland department of airports. "Most weekends are getting very close to full on the weekends, and then you add a holiday on top of that and you can expect that the parking will get harder and harder to find the closer to Thanksgiving Day, there is an overflow parking lot when the parking lots become full."
The Transportation Security Administration's goal is to try to keep everything as close to normal with a 10-minute wait for pre-check and a 30-minute wait for normal screening lines.
Make sure you get there early and pack your patience.
