RUIDOSO, N.M. — Flash flooding is being reported all over Ruidoso, New Mexico, the same place devastated by wildfires late last month.
"As the South Fork and Salt Fires continue to challenge firefighting efforts in the Ruidoso and Mescalero areas, the community faces new threats from severe flooding triggered by recent heavy rains." - Village of Ruidoso
That rain has helped those fires by suppressing the hot spots which are both mostly contained.
Severe thunderstorms have caused flash flooding and evacuations in several parts of the state of New Mexico.
Fire officials reported receiving 100 service calls during the storm.
There are no reports of injuries.
