This week's Weather Impact Alert concern is the flooding potential for the more localized areas that are more so prone to the flooding potential. West Texas is known for flooding due to the quick nature of it due to the land not being able to absorb much of the water with little rain causing major impacts even under an inch of rain.

Always keep alert of the local flood zones and areas that are more prone to flooding in your local neighborhoods and in your local city. Just always remember if you have happened to be in the situation where you're driving, just remember to always turn around and don't drown.  It doesn't take much rain to cause impacts in West Texas with limited amounts even under an inch or 0.5inches.

Here are our Weather Impact Flood tips for just in the case things go south and more on the Severe case where flooding is more on the case of Flash Flooding. Always resort to higher ground if water is rising in your home or in a case if you're in an apartment, get to the higher floors if possible. Attics are always not the best place as most of the time as an escape plan isn't as prominent or plausible as if you are on your roof to be seen rather than unseen. One key tip to always keep in mind is to not drive if you don't need to because it doesn't take much rain to cause an impact.
