Odessa tattoo shop raising money for Andrews family who lost child in hit-and-run

Black Cat Tattoo Company is raffling a $1,000 tattoo for $20 a ticket. All proceeds will go towards the family of the six-year-old boy killed in a hit-and-run.

ODESSA, Texas — The death of a six-year-old boy from Andrews who was killed in a hit-and-run has rocked an entire community. Now, some are looking for ways to stand beside the family.

The Black Cat Tattoo Company in Odessa is raffling a tattoo worth $1,000 for $20 a ticket. All of the proceeds will go directly to the victim's family.

Tickets are available at the shop located at 2708 N Golder Ave. in Odessa, or can be purchased by contacting the Black Cat Tattoo Company across its social media platforms.

The winner of this raffle will be announced on Aug. 23.

Edgar Armendariz has owned the tattoo shop since 2014 and is no stranger to fundraising in times of need. Armendariz shared the reasoning behind donating 100% of the proceeds raised from the raffle.

"We hope they know that the community cares, we all care and we are trying to do our part," Armendariz said. "I can't imagine what they're going through and I just want to do whatever I can because nothing we can do can take back what happened, but we can try to comfort them as much as we can."
