Man arrested in Midland for multiple charges after hazardous items search

41-year-old Conrad Jay Patterson was charged with possession of child pornography, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

MIDLAND, Texas — An arrest has been made in reference to a chemical hazard search in the 100 block of East Cowden Ave. Thursday, according to Sergeant Steven Blanco with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The release stated that DPS' Criminal Investigations Division was serving a search warrant for possession of child pornography.

During the investigation and upon searching the residence, hazardous items were found.

DPS arrested 41-year-old Conrad Jay Patterson and he was booked into the Midland County Detention Center. He has been arrested for possession of child pornography, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

Agencies that helped DPS: Midland Police Department, Midland Fire Department, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

DPS also stated that the, "100 block of Cowden Ave. between Main and Whitaker Streets remains an active scene, and the public is advised to avoid the area."
