Andrews Police Department releases footage of vehicles involved in Aug. 14 hit-and-run that left child dead

Andrews Police stated that they are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the second vehicle and driver in the video.

ANDREWS, Texas — The Andrews Police Department has released video footage on their Facebook page of the two vehicles involved in the hit-and-run accident that took the life of a six-year-old Andrews boy on Wednesday, August 14

The video was posted with the below statement from Lt. Chris Davis:

"We are asking for public's assistance on the identity of the second vehicle and driver in regards to the accident yesterday in the 200 Block of SE AVE E. The white dodge pickup has been identified, we are just needing assistance with the second, dark color SUV or crossover style vehicle. 

We understand that the video is hard to make out much detail, we are just putting out what we have at the time. We are working to gather more video in better content and we hope to release as soon as possible. 

We also understand that emotions are very high at this time. While we greatly appreciate the sharing of our information, but we don't want to create a platform of negative opinions and communications. Please refrain from the use of negative comments that are not productive for the investigation of the case." - Lt. Chris Davis, Andrews Police Department
