Boil water notice in Odessa has rescinded, City of Odessa says

Residents in Odessa were asked to boil their water from Saturday, May 11 until 10:30 a.m. Monday.

ODESSA, Texas — The boil water notice in Odessa that started on Saturday, May 11 has rescinded, according to a press release from the City of Odessa at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.

The full press release from the City of Odessa sent to NewsWest 9 is below:

"On May 11, 2024, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Odessa Public Water System to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees in the City of Odessa, that due to conditions that occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of May 13, 2024." - Monica McDaniel, Director of Communications for the City of Odessa
