HOBBS, N.M. — The public is needed to help identify two individuals who are wanted for questioning in relation to a shooting that took place in Hobbs on Nov. 17, according to a Hobbs Police Department (HPD) Facebook post on Tuesday.
Currently, 33-year-old Devarian Gibson is in custody for the shooting that left two people injured. He has been charged with aggravated battery, a third-degree felony, and shooting at or from a motor vehicle, a second-degree felony.
The first response to this incident happened at approximately at 3:24 a.m. on Nov. 17.
One shooting took place in the area of Marland Blvd and Leech St., where officers found 22-year-old Isaiah Chavez-Wright of Hobbs suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Then, officers got another call about a person suffering from "possible injuries." Additional officers responded to the area of Harden St. and Thorp St., where they found a car that crashed into a utility pole. While on scene, HPD found 29-year-old Devin Sanders of Hobbs, also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
