City of Midland provides tips for driving on new roundabout

The city's first roundabout will be located at the extension on Tradewinds Boulevard at Anetta Drive, between Thomason Drive and Business 20.

MIDLAND, Texas — The City of Midland will soon have its first roundabout.

The new extension on Tradewinds Boulevard, which will open early May, will include the new road feature.

This new area is at Anetta Drive, between Thomason Drive and Business 20.

Since this is the first of its kind in the area, the city has been promoting a video to show drivers how to use the roundabout.

The video highlights the signs along the roundabout and gives clear instructions on when to yield.

The City of Midland website also discusses how to yield to emergency vehicles as well as supplying other tips to help keep efficient traffic flow.

Safety statistics show that roundabouts reduce traffic fatalities by up to 90% and around a 30 to 40% reduction in pedestrian crashes.

If you would like to watch the video and see the tips Midland has for utilizing the new roundabout you can visit the City of Midland website.
